Dear Colleagues:

We are honored and pleased to invite you to attend the 8th biennial Footwear Biomechanics Symposium. The Symposium will be held in Taipei from the 27th through the 29th June 2007 at the National Yang Ming University (NYMU).

　The Footwear Biomechanics Group (FBG) is a Technical Group of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) with more than 500 active members from around the globe. Although this is the 8th symposium of the officially constituted FBG, scientists and engineers interested in footwear biomechanics have been meeting since 1978 at more than a dozen international symposia.

　Please accept our invitation to join this active and friendly group and to take part in our latest symposium. The schedule is intended to allow participants to easily attend the ISB symposium that follows on 1-5 July 2007, to be held nearby. But it is also intended to allow you some time to explore Taipei.

　Taipei is a vibrant city with all of the color, excitement, and rich cultural heritage of a leading modern Asian city. The symposium site at NYMU offers a respite from the bustle of Taipei proper. High on a hill in a quiet wooded setting, NYMU is the perfect venue for the friendly exchanges and collegial atmosphere that have been the hallmark of past FBG symposia.

　Please join us for three days of lively and informative presentations and engaging discussions about the latest findings from footwear biomechanics. We wish you a stimulating and fruitful symposium and an enjoyable stay in Taipei.
